Family Caregiver Support Program

Title III-E of the Older Americans Act is designed to support caregivers who provide care to older adults or individuals with disabilities. The goal is to help care recipients maintain independence and remain in their homes, while also supporting caregivers through a continuum of care services. This includes programs such as caregiver vouchers and other supportive services. KIPDA’s Area Agency on Aging and Independent Living (AAAIL) is committed to ensuring that caregivers receive the support they need to consistently care for older or disabled adults, while also maintaining their own well-being and independence at home.
The National Family Caregiver Program offers vouchers to help caregivers purchase medical supplies, equipment, or pay for respite care from a trusted individual. These services aim to reduce financial strain and caregiver stress.
The application process also helps identify additional needs and resources for both the caregiver and care recipient, contributing to a more complete care plan.
