    MPO Project Development

    The Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) is more than simply a list of unrelated projects. Through technical analysis, public involvement, and policy review, the Transportation Policy Committee (TPC) has clearly stated what they expect from the MTP in terms of projects, how they interact, and the impacts they will have on the community. This page includes links to resources help project sponsors understand the direction the TPC has chosen. The diverse landscape and variety of needs and wants require a dynamic approach that respects sub-area distinctions within a regional context. The foundation the TPC has created for updating the MTP provides for complimentary rather than contradictory transportation based improvements within and between smaller areas and the greater region.

    The resources listed on this page, along with the local and regional plans and studies, should be consulted by project sponsors when determining if an exisiting or proposed project is suitable for submission to the MTP.
